Note: The CMI charts have been updated through October 26. The Growth Index is now at -5.93. Thus this consumption measure is still contracting but a bit less severely than earlier this month, when it hit a low of -6.13. The volatility of the underlying Weighted Composite Index precludes certainty about the direction of the Growth Index.
