In response to an email I received yesterday about the relationship between Real GDP on the market, I've updated a chart originally posted in July of last year. The NBER hasn't made an official call on the end of the latest recession, but I've shown it ending in mid 2009.
The next Bureau of Economic Analysis news release on GDP will be the 3rd estimate of Q1 GDP on June 25th. The advance estimate of Q2 GDP will be announced on July 30th. I'll update this chart on new GDP data or major market moves.
