Moving Averages: Interim Timing Updates
Updated each business day

The links below will open a popup window with the results for simple moving average (SMA) and the current buy/sell signal. This information serves as an alert for potential changes in monthy timing signals, which I post here after the close of business on the final day of the month. Your browser must have JavaScript enabled for the links to work.

Important note: Thus, the Buy/Sell flags in the links are not true monthly signals until about 2-3 hours after the close of last business day of the month (which is when the Yahoo! Finance data is finalized).

The Yahoo! Finance number for the current month is the latest daily (not monthly) close. The links are most useful as we near the end of the month because they can alert us to pay close attention when a moving average is near a buy/sell point.

Note the code that generates the results for the links below is being upgraded.

I hope to have the functionality restored soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!

S&P 500 Index

S&P 500 10-month SMA
S&P 500 12-month SMA

Ivy Portfolio Updates

Vanguard Total Market ETF
VTI 10-month SMA

Vanguard FTSE All-World ex-US ETF
VEU 10-month SMA

iShares Barclays 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF
IEF 10-month SMA

Vanguard REIT ETF
VNQ 10-month SMA

PowerShares DB Commodity Index Tracking ETF
DBC 10-month SMA

In the past I've also included 12-month SMAs for these five ETFs. But in order to simplify this page be consistent with The Ivy Portfolio preferred timing interval, I'm now only providing links to the 10-month SMAs. However, you can get timing signals for any asset tracked by Yahoo! Finance at any monthly interval by using the link below and substituting the appropriate ticker symbol and number for the monthly interval:
